Bio

Rita LaMoreaux is the Government Affairs and Young Agent Specialist.

In her Government Affairs role she helps to coordinate any MAIA legislative events and PAC fundraising. As the Young Agent Council Liaison, she assists new and younger members in planning and coordinating their education meetings and events. She works to bring young people into the independent insurance industry. Rita also coordinates the trade show at the MAIA Annual Convention.

Prior to working at MAIA, Rita was the Office Manager of MIRS News, a political news service in Lansing. At MIRS, Rita was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the small office while maintaining customer support and legislative reports.

In her past employment and volunteer roles with the Turner-Dodge House in Lansing she worked with the Lansing Parks and Recreation Department to provide historical educational programs to the young people of Lansing.

Giving back to her community is important to Rita. She is Co-Chair of the Lansing Community College Alumni Committee, Founder and President of the Delta Township Historical Society, Youth Service Co-Chair and Grants Committee Chair of the Delta-Waverly Rotary Club and Treasurer of the Irish American Club of Mid-Michigan.

Rita lives in Lansing with her husband David and step-daughter.
